By popular request we have gone through the list of IPhone domains and picked out some good ones. We have seen that there must have been a rumors last year because a few California people registered some really good IPhone domains months before the rumors really picked up. I think the best terms have to be “Cheap” and “Accessories”. So I checked and both were taken 2 years ago. But what about Cheap Iphone Accessories.com, that was registered only 20 days ago and now is listed for sale at $10,000. Wow.

Remzi Oten was another domain physic with a brilliant idea almost a year before the announcement, he got terms around the word IPhone. He was playing the domain lottery. Why play the real when you can play the Domain Lottery - if someone wants your domain, you can score Huge.

Kamaira was another winner that seemed to attack the IPhone name with extreme confidence that a device would exist in the future with that exact name. He bought $10,000 names like they were candy on Halloween last year because they were unregistered and only cost $8 a name. If you know the future then $8 can get you $10,000. But if you bought IPhone Accessories.com on a hutch 2 years ago now you are looking at a lot of money. At least $300,000 by my estimate for the accessories term. This term will pay very well for the next few years, it can earn thousands of dollars a month in income and it predates the IPhone announcement. Ara H should be building this domain out. He is sitting on a gold mine.

But then there is the flip side - people registering domains after an announcement.  I don’t think an UDRP would look kindly on these guys. I guess it all depends on how they use the domain. Apple’s legal team has a long couple of years ahead of it. It was behind on the trademark and now it is behind on the domains. Perhaps Apple can afford to ignore the domains, after all we are only talking a few million dollars left on the table. Apple will make over $150 Million in the first week selling the IPhone.
