Thought Convergence is proud to announce that Aftermarket.com has been selected as the premier auction house for the upcoming T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Down Under conference, scheduled to take place November 18-20, 2008 in Queensland, Australia. The Aftermarket.com auction will commence on November 20, 2008, beginning at 8:30 AM AEST UTC/GMT +10 hours (Nov 19, 2008, 2:30 PM PST). Those unable to join us Down Under may access and participate in the auction online at this time.
The domain submission period for this auction kicked off on Monday, October 6th. In addition to new domain submissions, all domains previously submitted but not sold at the New York Aftermarket.com auction will be considered for the upcoming Down Under auction. The submission interface is accessible now at www.Aftermarket.com.
The final auction list will feature at least 25 .AU domains in addition to a minimum of 75 competitively-priced, top quality lots. As the Aftermarket.com auction in New York confirmed, competitively-priced domains get action and move! Our critical and rigorous selection process has proven highly effective - in New York, over 50% of our inventory sold, and of those sales, more than 75% sold above the reserve price. Based on that success, we will maintain the same criteria for the upcoming auction Down Under. This time around, however, we plan to list up to 50% of the inventory at No Reserve. This formula will ensure that we have a competitively-priced, exciting and successful auction for both buyers and sellers.
Domain submissions will be accepted through November 1st, 2008, at which time we will begin to formulate the preliminary list of domain names for auction. The initial list of at-auction domains will be available for public viewing on November 6th. The final catalog will be available online by November 14th in order to provide buyers with ample time to research auction inventory. Active online bidding will be enabled shortly thereafter.
We will periodically provide additional ’sneak peeks’ of the auction inventory, so please check back frequently for the latest information and updates. We will also continue to provide answers to questions generated from these posts.
Thought Convergence is extremely excited about taking Aftermarket.com Down Under, and building upon our momentum from T.R.A.F.F.I.C.
In the mean time, if anybody has any comments, questions or suggestions, please feel free to email us at support [ at ] aftermarket.com.

if you try to add multiple domains at once, after clicking the radio button, when the text area appears for adding your domains, the panel with the navigation buttons (containing the NEXT button) disappears.
UPDATE: < < FIXED >> Thank you for letting us know.

The auction is the 16 and you plan to release the final list the 14?
…
NO COMMENT
UPDATE: The auction is scheduled for November 20, 8:30am in Queensland, Australia. You’ll want to check your local time zone to determine when the Live Auction will be active in your area. Online bidding will be available prior to the Live Auction though. Not sure where you read the 16th? You can find the full agenda atTRAFFIC Down Under.

I am confused on how to verify. After I hit finish they are in my Down Under account. So how do I verify,Thanks Mill
UPDATED: Hello Mill.
When you see your domains in the Auction Manager, there should be a link at the end of each domain that was submitted that states, “Pending Item Verification”.
Click on that link and a window should appear that will verify the email address listed in the WHOIS record for this domain.
Once it has verified the email address, you can select it (if there are multiple, you will need to select each email individually). Once you have chosen the email address to verify, simply click on the blue ‘SEND VERIFICATION EMAIL’ bar and check your email.
The email received will have a link you will then click on to finalize verification that you indeed have authorization to sell this domain.
Once these steps are completed the domains will be eligible for review.
Please let us know if we can be of additional assistance.

THE process of submitting domains very cumbersome
October 19th, 2008 at 1:37 pm
I don’t know what you people have problems with, it worked fine for me, no problems at all.

I’m finding that the submission process is freezing up at the “step 3 - checking format” phase and I’m unable to go any further.
For some reason - the first time I tried submitting a handful of names only one seemed to make into my account. That name is now “under review” and no authorization email was sent to me for verification. After that ….step 3 was as far as the system lets me go.
UPDATE: This is a known issue and if you would please send any missing domains and their reserves to support@aftermarket.com, we would be more than happy to look into the matter and make sure that they are properly considered for the final catalog.
Thanks in advance.

UPDATED: The issue has been resolved and we have received your email. Your reply is on the way. We appreciate your interest in participating.

I added 71 domains but after I entered the reserve prices I hit next and nothing happened. When I try to redo it the site says they are already listed, so i guess they went thru, but I dont know how to check my listings. I want to make sure the reserve prices are set correctly. Can i look somewhere?
< < UPDATE >> All 71 of your submissions were correctly entered with reserve and are populated in our database. Maybe try using a different browser to check the domain manager (www.domaintools.com/domain-manager/) If you are still not able to view the submissions after logging in please, submit a support ticket support.domaintools.com Thanks.

‘When you see your domains in the Auction Manager, there should be a link at the end of each domain that was submitted that states ?Pending Item Verification?. Click on that link and a window should appear that will verify the email address listed in the WHOIS record for this domain.’
I submitted 25 names to the Auction Manager and entered reserve prices for some of them. However, there is no clickable link at the end of the domains, so I can’t verify the email address, etc. Help!
< < UPDATE >> Tiki, the domains you submitted were automatically verified in the system, bypassing the “Pending” status. This occurs when the submission has the same email address used in verifying your DomainTools account. You can find that information at: http://www.domaintools.com/verification/

I’m considering putting some of my domains up for auction through your system.
I have a question about the T&C.
I get that an exclusivity window (90 days) is necessary and fair if Aftermarket is to be able to earn a return on efforts to market a domain.
However, in the T&C it also states that
Convergence “will determine which Domain Name(s) to attempt to sell in its sole and absolute discretion”
By itself that is also fair.
Question is, if it is decided to not attempt to sell given domain name(s), is the owner notified of that decision and by the decision relieved of the exclusivity provision?
Taking the T&C simply as written it is possible for a seller to have the worst of both worlds: Aftermarket not trying to sell the domain and if the seller makes successful independent efforts to sell, seller still owes Aftermarket 15% for doing nothing?
I have to ask because several sellers faced a similar issue with Sedo: Domains marked as for sale and thus the obligation to compensate Sedo in the event of a sale, but Sedo doing absolutely nothing to make a sale unless the sellers purchase premium services…
