For those of you that want to preview the auction list…..
http://www.domaintools.com/live-auction/sanfrancisco2008.html
We are still moving things around a little, tweaking things here and there. Once the list is finalized we will publish in EVERYWHERE on the DomainTools.com
website. Right now it is only being made available to the 15,000 people that read our blog. We will push the list out mid Tuesday morning to the 400,000+ people that visit DomainTools daily.
UPDATE: The entire DomainTools site is now showing the domains going to auction.

Dear Jay,
is very sweet of you, you realy having a good taste, all domains are uniques and perfect, actualy you are not selling a domain name in auction, you are dealing with ranks and traffic. why not in future before collecting a dollar from members make it clear who have traffic and rank should sign a contract. cheers and good luck to you..

Dear Jay:
I just reviewed the preliminary auction list. To be honest with you, I’m disappointed with the selection; though, if this is the best of the submitted domains you have reviewed thus far, you certainly had your work cut-out for you!
I have submitted 22 domain names for your consideration. Most have received numerous unsolicited offers. I hope you give them a shot in the auction.
Simply review the domains in my account – you wont be disappointed!
P.S. my two favorites are “trustdeeds.com
” and “icrosswords.com
”, both should do well in the live auction!
April 15th, 2008 at 3:05 am
LOL – some people have a funnt idea on domains. If you are going to try and palm off Toys R Us at least get the “R” part right!!!!
BTW – where do we preregister for the auction?

Hey Jay:
I just found a Google listing for a cool game APP for the iphone, and it’s named “icrosswords”. Here’s the link:
http://apple.dcemu.co.uk/icrossword-v0-1-87478.html
How could you NOT include this domain in the live auction?
Then again, perhaps I should rethink the reserve on the domain name (icrosswords.com
), reserve only $100,000!
April 15th, 2008 at 4:51 am
Hi Jay,
GREAT list. this auction is gonna be hot, I think !
Could you consider LowCostCredits.com
, MyTopTv.com
, CreditSurf.com
, BuyXbox.com
, BestSportBets.com
or Shootgun.com
?
Thanks a lot. kind regards. Brian
April 15th, 2008 at 5:43 am
Hi Jay,
I’m surprised you listed coplights.com
and geospecific.com
These are low traffic with little natural language appeal or brand resonance.
Have you considered OpenCheque.com
?
Highly brandable within money markets, sales and marketing, rewards and loyalty, executive recruitment, etc. It has vernacular resonance across the english speaking world.
April 15th, 2008 at 6:04 am
I just can’t believe that this unbelievably SUPER-PREMIUM name I submitted wasn’t chosen:
ReallySparklyWeddingHats.biz
April 15th, 2008 at 6:16 am
How many names were submitted Jay ?
April 15th, 2008 at 7:06 am
Why are you people writing all this lousy domains here in comments? Most of domains listed above are not even worth reg fee.

How would you know if coplights.com
is low traffic? You have no clue of what you speak of because I own it and it does get traffic.
April 15th, 2008 at 7:36 am
Shootgun.com? Are you serious?
April 15th, 2008 at 7:42 am
I can’t believe InternetsTopTen.com
didn’t make it. Any thoughts?
April 15th, 2008 at 8:17 am
I think I now understand why Jay waited until now to give us the list. Some of you are crazy.
April 15th, 2008 at 8:27 am
Folks,
Truly, about 18 of you that have responded to this specific blog this morning regarding the auction list need to get a clue.

All I have to say according to alexa it has no traffic. keep in mind people alexa only has 15,000,000 users of their tool bar. I get 500 wisits a day to my site and according to alexa I have 50 users a day. so it could be right that coplights is getting traffic just no one that has went there has had a alexa tool bar or maybe he has not contacted alexa to remind them of his site either way there is no rue way to determine traffic rank

Jay,
As you work on fine tuning the auction list, there is a typo-
added letter or two within my domain. :}
Thanks,

WHAAAAAAAAAAT? No expensive .mobi’s? Ohhh yeah, Traffic is the only place that mobi’s “sell” for a lot.
April 15th, 2008 at 12:28 pm
Is the list final, Jay? That is, will you be adding one or two more or is this a final cut? Thanks.

We are honored to have multiple domains in this year’s auction, including LoveStories.com
! We have priced the domain for quick sale, and have included these additional domains as part of the Lot:
lovestories.biz

lovestories.info
amazinglovestories.com
ilovestories.com
incrediblelovestories.com
LoveStories.com
is a Vintage 1997 domain, with over 18 million pageviews to date. This has been accomplished with no paid advertising or marketing.
The current site is built on the ning social network platform. The potential with this domain is endless.
LoveStories.com
is a registered trade (service) mark. If anyone has any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me!
Thank you, Jay, for including us in this year’s auction.

April 15th, 2008 at 5:17 pm
Lovestories.com sounds like one of the best names in this auction!
I appreciate now how hard it is to get into an auction like this when it is apparent how many people are trying…. and I also sympathize now with the staff at the domain tools/round table staff in filtering through many of these domains which are more of a distraction than of any real value.
My thanks to you also Jay & company,
S

15,000 people that read our blog!!! 30 reply to your command.. such popularity .. wow .. congratulation Jay.. wakeup … is 7am.
Good Luck and Cheers
April 15th, 2008 at 8:17 pm
Jay, the whois has not updated my email for gotparts.com
, so the ownership has not been confirmed, is there still time to get it considered? (I just obtained it).
Go SendCards.com
! such a bargain (admitted shameless self promotion)
is worth?
Esteemed colleagues, what do you think sendcards.com
I do love lovestories.com
. Invites.com
very nice too.
Good luck to all!
April 15th, 2008 at 9:58 pm
Be sure to let me know when “pipedream.com
” is up for auction.
April 15th, 2008 at 10:26 pm
jay;
I understand your name selecting formula. Any name (whatever the length) with potential traffic with low reserves
Sorry,I cannot lose my great names just becoz of no/less traffic for such less and I am exiting by deleting all my 140 names.
thanking you
vds
April 16th, 2008 at 12:36 am
Jay:
I just added another domain “oilreserves.org
” to my account for the live auction, low reserve (no pun intended) only $55,000 – going once, going twice, sold!
April 16th, 2008 at 3:08 am
Jay
I know your are busy enough to not have a look at this blog, even. However my domains are remained “Pending Review” for two months. This is disappointing that your Domain Auction’s domain submission deadline is the same as the domain auction event’s date.
April 16th, 2008 at 4:49 am
I agree with Digital_Signs.
April 16th, 2008 at 10:24 am
Digital_signs
Your domains will remain “pending review” until the end of time–that is, unless you delete them yourself.
Apparently Domain Tools does not have the tool to send rejection emails.
April 16th, 2008 at 11:22 am
We have 3 domains in the auction: LoveStories.com
, Heart.MD
, and College.cc
! We just added another 200 great domains for consideration! Many of them are generic. Thanks, Jay, for your hard work and consideration!
drs
April 16th, 2008 at 11:40 am
Thanks MsDomainer
However it is realy exciting that none of my domains as you can see top of the in 27th comment above are accepted yet. Even those without hyphen like AccountArea.net
and DomainAuctionEvents.com
.
April 16th, 2008 at 12:08 pm
Hi digital_signs,
Unless I’m reading the Whois records incorrectly it looks like the two above domains you mention were only registered within the last few days. Older domains generally have a better chance of being selected for auctions of this type. Domain forums like Namepros.com
have informative posts and discussions to learn more about domain names and auctions.
April 16th, 2008 at 12:22 pm
geo names are hot but the reserve on sanmateo.com
is far too high @ 110k – realistic # is 25-30k
April 16th, 2008 at 1:59 pm
digital_signs:
what are you smoking? Do you think that you can go and just register any available domain and than put it on an auction and make money? I think you need to find yourself another hobby, better collect stamps or something.
April 16th, 2008 at 8:15 pm
gregor80:
What are your accepted domains for this auction? Do you have any accepted domains, even? or, you are just here to assess auction members? thank you for your suggestion, it seems that you are a professional stamp collector who recommend it to others, however since I’m not a professional stamp collector as you are, I prefer other ways.
April 17th, 2008 at 1:01 am
No offense digital_signs, but those domains you listed are probably the worst I have ever seen…
The only domain I am shocked didn’t make it is ReallySparklyWeddingHats.biz
from comment #15! Seems generic enough to me. Don’t make domains like that anymore.
April 17th, 2008 at 2:23 am
Yeah. ReallySparklyWeddingHats.biz
! I’d have bid on that one. It’ll go well with my other site NotSoSparklyPartyHats.info
You want to sell, futures?
April 17th, 2008 at 2:27 am
Comment 15# :
Jay may not have selected unbelievably SUPER-PREMIUM name you submitted reallysparklyweddinghats.biz
” because you might have actually forgot to register it before listing the premium domain in your account.
Someone seriously needs to comeout with the definition of what premium domains are.
April 17th, 2008 at 5:58 am
Hey masters… any of you have any idea about the .asia domian future. I summited several new .asia domains but i can see that they are very young for auctions? Any idea?
NoFee.asia

Pennies.asia
NoCost.asia
Touching.asia
Advertorial.asia
thank you
April 17th, 2008 at 7:23 am
RE: reallysparklyweddinghats.biz
Ya think someone might be yanking your chain?
April 17th, 2008 at 7:43 am
RE (again): reallysparklyweddinghats.biz
Perhaps I should have submitted GeorgeBushShouldHavePulledOut.com
a real traffic stopper (literally).
Regged in another lifetime.

Great list, I didn’t make it, oh well should be an awesome event! Maybe even bigger than the last roundtable.
April 17th, 2008 at 11:01 am
Sorry ousep, you’ll just have to make do with NotSoSparklyPartyHats.info
because I’ve decided to sit on ReallySparklyWeddingHats.biz
for a few years to make it even MORE valuable.
Newbie that I am, I didn’t quite understand that names have to have been registered for a loooong time to be accepted into auctions.
I was thinking I was lucky to have registered TeethWhitened.com
and HousesStaged.com
this week. Oh well… maybe in 8 or 10 years they’ll be worth something.

Nah, you sound optimistic!!!! That’s good!!!!
April 17th, 2008 at 6:20 pm
On a positive note. If you had only 5k to spend what name would you go for?
April 18th, 2008 at 11:01 am
I’ve got to tell you. Some of these names I wouldn’t give you a fraction of the reserve for.
April 20th, 2008 at 6:47 am
hi
of the domains are good but there asking price very high.
wondering why ur first auction flopped.I hope second succeedes
