DomainTools Tattoo

It’s official: Paul Brin of KYgallery.com got his DomainTools tattoo while in Seattle. Paul is now the proud recipient of a free Gold Membership for life in exchange for getting our logo tattooed on his arm. Paul is eager to get into Domaining and sees the Gold Membership as the perfect tool.
Many professional domainers already have a subscription to DomainTools. They’ve learned what an invaluable tool it can be. In fact, most people would prefer that we keep it secret, but with several hundred thousand viewers each day, I think DomainTools is the worst kept secret in our industry. Paul’s fresh start in domaining proves there is still room left for new people to come in.
Paul’s new tattoo is our gear logo without the DomainTools text. We actually held a contest for people to design our logo about two years ago when we switched from the primary domain of Whois.sc to DomainTools.com. The contest was a great way for our users to help us with logo design and now, thanks to Paul, tattoo design. We choose the gear logo to help communicate our ongoing efforts to process and render useful data in very creative ways.
We actually took a video of Paul getting his tattoo in case people thought this was a Photoshop graphics trick.

I could never do that. Not as the tattooee, but as the company. Waving a buck over someone in return for your company’s logo be tattooed on someones body for life. But this logo is not a terrible one if I were the victim. A gear could mean anything.

You need a picture of Paul standing knee deep in water in the middle of a local creek with his arm in front of him “Like Frank” but with the tatoo showing.
And that would make a great advertisement postcard for Paul’s site, too. Since it was my idea he better send me one. Give Paul my address when he get’s them made up.
Keep Smiling!

I’ll be sure to post a shot of me in the Kentucky River later this spring!
I’d like to say that tattooist Chris Thompson, of Slave To The Needle in Wallingford, did an excellent job!

Paul,
I wasn’t kidding either. I think that would be a good pic to use on your site. And advertising postcards even. And it kinda fits into the theme of your site.

The Gear Tattoo will represent a domainer to other domainers only. A nice way of representation, with out revealing any thing. more over secrecy in domaining is not at all necessary. General concept is if viewers / speculators knows that he /she is in negotion with a domainer. then they know domainers know the value of the domain and we will not be able to buy them @ prices very low than the prevailing market prices.

While I love tattoos I have never gotten one for myself, much less one that is some one else’s logo. It’s a nice logo though, so I can see how Paul didn’t mind so much. Seeing the video of him getting his tattoo reminds me that every one who gets a tattoo should investigate tattoo after careprior to getting their tattoo. If you already have tattoos this article will help you out with the care of older tattoos as well.
