Millionaire Domainers

July 3rd, 2007 by Jay Westerdal

Cash StackCalling all Millionaires. We are putting together a list of everyone in this industry that has made a million dollars from domain names. The list is long but we need your help to complete the list.

Please submit names of fellow domainers that have made it big in the comments below. We will alter the post and put the millionaires that people suggest directly into the post.

As new people join the list we will try and do a blog post about them. Also, as we get to it we will do a post about everyone already on the list.

  8. whois96763 Says:

This is a really bad idea. Consider that your favorite domainer hero may not want you splashing his name around on a public list of millionaires.

  9. ActNow Says:

“This is a really bad idea. Consider that your favorite domainer hero may not want you splashing his name around on a public list of millionaires.”

    I agree.

UPDATE BY JAY: I have pulled a few people off the list that want to be more private. A net worth of one Million is easy to achieve if you have been in this industry for a long time. I don’t buy into the paranoia that people will be targets if they are on the list. That is crazy talk. There are millions of millionaires. And when you look at the big picture, a million dollars only buys you half of an apartment in San Fransisco.

  10. wbouvier Says:

Pinky Brand (idNames, Network Solutions, Arcemus)

  11. carlos51916 Says:

    ¿Chris Chena from Chena Ventures?

  12. whois96763 Says:

“I don’t buy into the paranoia that people will be targets if they are on the list.”

I didn’t used to buy into that kind of paranoia until I was sued because plantiff found an online photo of me standing next to a Ferarri. Predatory lawsuits and other threats to people with money are real. (ie. Just because you’re paranoid, it doesn’t mean they’re not out to get you. ;)

  13. whois27106 Says:

“This is a really bad idea. Consider that your favorite domainer hero may not want you splashing his name around on a public list of millionaires.”

The industry is now out of the closet, warts and all. Names shouldn’t pulled, it is like Britney asking for her pics not to be published in the paper. If it is public knowledge then publish it.

  14. Ted108 Says:

My boss, partner and friend for the last 35 years and currently Owner and Chairman of the company that bares my name, Tedhens Limted, http://www.Tedhens.com, “Dr. Christopher W. Hartnett,” should fit into your special group. Dr. Hartnett is the retired Chairman and Founder of USA Global Link and GlobalOnline.com and domainer since 1992 with over 18,000 premium domains and over 4500 domains starting with the word “Global”. Based on the last Traffic Auction in New York where GlobalFunds.com sold for $20,000, that should put Dr. Hartnett’s “Global Portfolio of 4500 names” alone worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $90 million.

    Very best to you, Ted108.

UPDATE BY JAY: I removed personal contact details. Please don’t post those.

  15. DotSauce Says:

This list is exciting for me. Congratulations to all those who have reached this milestone! I am a successful domainer and entrepreneur, though I am quite far off from earning even a fraction of a million dollars.

EDIT BY JAY: Please no solicitations.

  16. chris_ambler Says:

    Crap. Now my wife knows.

  17. daynet Says:

    Harald Hochmann (DAY.biz, Adomino.com)

  18. AngelDV Says:

Chris Chena from Chena Ventures (animation.com, viajes.com, and others). I think he´s also the most active hispanic on this industry, buying, developing and selling premiums. Also one of the youngest domainers. With the last sales of some of his premium spanish domains to Marchex and other companies, he made even more millions. Why he is not on this list?

  19. jennifersemplesiegel Says:

I’m not there yet (not by a long shot), but I hope there’s eventually room for a 56-year-old grandma ;=)

  20. YakovYukhananov-aol- Says:

    Yakov Yukhananov
    Make Things Happen, LLC
    MakeMoney.com / Workathome.com …

  21. smartnames Says:

Cuban ? Ari G? Every WIPO UDRP crook that is on the take? Its still making money off domains, even if ya are stealing generics from people via UDRP, which has happened occasionally.

  22. ltdieselparts Says:
  23. registerfly Says:

    kevin medina????
please forgive my alias; it was made for monitoring my domains that were held hostage by the aforementioned name. Glad my wife wont see my name here. It is nice to see a list of the ‘big players”. maybe the list could be called something else like a ‘who’s who’ but in fine print qualifications would be 1 mil in domain equity or salary of 100k plus. bad thing here, 1 mil isnt what it used to be, even less now that obama is in town.
