I am extremely impressed with Mike Mann. He sold BuyDomains a few years ago for $65+ Million but he didn’t go quietly into retirement. He started a Venture Capital firm in Washington DC called WashingtonVC. Mike has always known the value of good domain names. Most of his startups have excellent Generic Domain Names and he tries to build solid companies on top of those domain names. That is a great formula for success.
The companies he has invested in include HappyBirthday.com led by Miguel Fiol, Phone.com led by Ari Rabban, Software.com led by Mike Bell, PodCast.com led by Scott Beatty. Today he just announced the purchase of SEO.com by WashingtonVC. And the formation of an SEO firm led by Dave Bascom. The company was formally called Web Targeted, but the new domain gives this SEO firm a huge leg up on its competitors.

Nice name BUT…now the pressure’s on for him to get #1 on the SEs for SEO…otherwise it will look like they aren’t as good as their services would suggest.

He looks ugly. Other than that, he’s a great guy.

it’s unbelivable how much money people would spend on a domain name (and i guess it was a lot) but would still have a crappy designed web site to support it.

It takes more than a targeted domain name to make a good SEO company. Sure, it should help, but how many people with a couple thousand dollars or more to spend type in the domain and make a decision to go with the company they find there?
Rather than framing their main site on seo.com, I think it would make more sense to either park it on the main site, or put up a parking page that features their company. That way if they don’t get the customer they will still get paid…
I’m impressed that they list their prices on their site. I consider that and a so-so site signs of a sucessful company. All the good ones that I know about are so darn busy that their own site is not impressive.

Actually SEO.com is not a 0 pr–the home page at least is up to a 5. Maybe you looked at the internal pages that are at 0.
If anyone’s curious, I Googled him and found more info about Mike Mann at his site. It looks like some pretty cool stuff they’ve got going on.

Domain Business Supports experienced people. seo.com is a top class Generic. the domain was registered in 1995 and renewal paid up to 2015.this domain has a high type in traffic. But it is opposite to its title gets little traffic from SE, What a joke. Reason is the domain not maintained properly, from past 12 years. It has a Google PR5 and alexa ranking not in 100000.
