May 16th Domain Auction update

This was an interesting week at the Domain Auctions. The value of .COM can not be any more clear in this auction. We see that MyOrder.com sold for $27K but MyOrder.net sold for $2,800. The market clearly values .COM at a 10X multiple. Or phrased another way, dotnet is worth 10% of the value of dotcom. In the local space, we see that BakersfieldCA leads the local city names at $13K but there were plenty of city names and sold this week. FilePorn.com sold for $3,766 while Porn.com sold for $9 Million. Oh, what a one word difference makes in the value of a domain name. One Character can change the value of a name by millions of dollars. FreeLayout.net was a dotnet that went extremely high at $7,500. So we can assume the value of the dotcom would be around $75,000 and in a weird twist it appears that FreeLayout.com is owned by Frank Schilling but that Oregon Names wanted the dotnet version.
I think SurfHawaii.com was a bargain at $6K. SelfDivorce.com looks interesting as well for only $5K, I think that is another bargain. What could a divorce attorney setup on that site which would bring in $5K a day? The value of some of these domains is incredible when you think about the potential.
